NTU is pleased to announce that our fall to fall retention rate has climbed from 50% to 55% (fall 2017 to fall 2018 semester). As an open enrollment, rural institution, it can be difficult to provide all the services needed to ensure our students progression through their degree programs. But over the past year and a half, we’ve made student success an institutional priority through our Project Success program. As a result, we’ve implemented several programs to help our students persist, including our emergency aid and paid internship programs.
We had 38 students participate in our emergency aid program over the past year, and 89% of them were retained (emergency aid is designated for students who experience unexpected financial problems that put them at risk of dropping out). We also had 23 students participate in our paid internship program. We’re pleased to report that 100% of those who participated in paid internship registered for the next semester or graduated (see attached).
Great job! Student success is an institutional priority, so we appreciate your dedication to our students. For more information about the emergency aid and paid internship programs, contact Dr. Casmir Agbaraji at [email protected].
