Currently, NTU has one fully online program MS/MIS, and we are working toward creating more online programs. We do offer online courses that can apply to your program of study.
Online Application Registration Documentation New Student Checklist
Step 1: Visit our Course Schedule at all sites and online
Visit our NTU College Course Schedule page at url, http://www.navajotech.edu/academics/course-schedules, to browse available courses for the upcoming semester.
Step 2: Browse available courses
Course schedules are available at least three months prior the start of the semester. Select the site or online course you need for your program and click on the file to download or view the course schedule, http://www.navajotech.edu/academics/course-schedules.
Step 3: Select a course(s) or a Program of Study if you are a new student
Identify the course(s) in which you would like to enroll. You can write the course number, section, and name on a sheet of paper. And login into My.NTU, click on the course name to learn more information such as course description, dates, times, room location, instructor, tuition, etc. (refer to the MyNTU download instruction for more information).
Note: If you have any holds on your account due to payment, prerequisites, or other restrictions, you will need to speak with an advisor. You can call ADD NAME, EMAIL, PHONE to help you select your course.
NOTE: If you are a new student, you will need to schedule a Placement Testing. Please call 505.387.7470 to speak with an advisor.
What if I am a distance student?
Although we do not offer the Accuplacer online, we do offer the exam at our campus branch sites, Teec Nos Pos (928.882.3164) and Chinle (928.882.3135). Please call the appropriate site to schedule an appointment.
Step 4: Admissions, add a course to your schedule
New Students, select a program of study and download the program checklist. Checklist can be found on the NTU website for each Certificates and Degree Programs. NTU Catalog Electronic version available online at www.navajotech.edu.
Complete Admission Application (Online Application or paper application)
- Submit copy of Certificate of Indian Blood (CIB)
- Submit official high school transcript or GED Scores
- Transfer Student: Submit official college transcript
Once application is completed you will receive an Acceptance Letter with your ID Number.

Step 5: Complete the Free Financial Aid
- Create FSA ID (fafsa.gov)
- Check with financial aid office for eligibility (FAFSA Code: 016119)
- Apply for Navajo Nation Scholarship (Check with your local office for more information)
- American Indian College Fund (Set up profile at www.collegefund.org)

Out-of-state tuition does not apply since tuition at NTU is based on whether or not a student is an enrolled member of a federally recognized Indian tribe or not.
Part-Time Student — up to 11 Credit Hours
Full-Time Student — 12-15 Credit Hours
Overload Student — over 15 Credit Hours
1 Enrolled members with a census number or enrollment number (CIB) of a federally recognized tribe.
2 Non-enrolled member (no census number) or no enrollment number.

5 Tuition is calculated at $71.25 per credit hour for enrolled tribal members up to twelve (12) credit hours for full-time status. Additional credit hours over fifteen (15) hours will be charged per credit hour. Summer session full-time credit hour is calculated according to the number of weeks plus one. Therefore tuition is based on number of credit hours up to full time status.
Since books and supply costs vary from program to program and year to year, costs for books and supplies are calculated separately from tuition rates but still apply as part of the total coast of attendance.
On-Line Course Fee: $35.00 fee for each on-line course to cover support service (i.e., tutoring and on-line learning tools).

Step 6: New Student Orientation
You can attend on campus orientation or online. Student access to the orientation: https://navajotech.goorientation.com.
The online orientation includes pertinent information such as academic studies, support services, policies & safety, Title IX, student life, and paying for college.
When you complete the online orientation, you will receive an email with a Certificate of Completion. It may also be available to print from the orientation platform, itself. You will always have access to these resources if you need to refer back to the services we offer at NTU. For more information contact E Learning Director Coleen Arviso at [email protected].

Step 7: Set up your NTU Accounts
All students are required to obtain and use three NTU accounts.1.) Student Skyhawk email. All students are required to use their skyhawk email for student verification.
TO ACCESS SKYHAWK EMAIL
- Login to https://accounts.google.com.
- Enter your newly created NTU Skyhawk email. (Enter the whole address: [email protected]).
- Enter your one-time password. You will be prompt to change your password. (Only onetime setup)
NOTE: Google is our email system at NTU
2.)My.NTU is used for registering for registration, courses, viewing your course schedule, billing, financial aid, unofficial transcripts, and grades.
REGISTER FOR CLASSES
- Login to http://ecampus.navajotech.edu using your username and password.
- Click on “students” tab at the top of page.
- Click on “registration” tab on the left hand side.
- Click on “student schedule”.
- Select Term.
- Enter Course Code.
- Save courses in order to register.
- Click on “print schedule”.

- Login to http://ecampus.navajotech.edu using your username and password.
- Click on ‘”students” tab at the top of page
- Click on “registration” tab on the left hand side
- At the bottom of page “Student Schedule”
- View Details – will pull up schedule
- Top right there is a printer icon, click to print
TO ACCESS YOUR UN-OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS
- Login to http://ecampus.navajotech.edu using your username and password.
- Click on ‘”students” tab at the top of page
- Click on “registration” tab on the left hand side
- At the bottom of page “Unofficial Transcript”
- Click on “view unofficial transcript”
- Top right there is a printer icon, click to print
3.) Moodle is our learning management platform used for online, web-enhanced, and hybrid courses. More information can be found at Student Online Policies and at Student E-Learning resource regarding Moodle documentation. All students have access to Moodle Student Orientation. This course is to help you use the various features in Moodle. Please review and complete this course.
TO ACCESS MOODLE
How to log in to Moodle
- Go to http://moodle.navajotech.edu/
- Use your NTU ID and Password
- You should now be logged in. If you got a login error, please double-check our password and NTU ID. If you cannot log in to Moodle, please click on Forgotten your username or password to reset your password. Your courses are located under "My Courses" in the main page, you may need to scroll down if you do not see your course. You will not see any listings if you are not enrolled in any courses.
NOTE: NTU Email Account/My NTU (505) 488-8430 (See IT Department to get this set up) or email IT at [email protected]. Ensure you use a meaningful subject such as: New Student – Need NTU Accounts setup. Include your Full name, NTU ID, and copy of your course schedule.
Step 8: Purchase your Books
The NTU Bookstore maintains a complete inventory of college textbooks and school supplies including notebooks, pens, pencils, folders and other items.
HOURS: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Each Semester students may begin charging books to their accounts. Class schedules can also be faxed to the bookstore at 505.387.7377 in order to reserve the textbooks that are needed.

Step 9: Complete your Registration
Note: Some courses require an approval. If you have Approvals needed, your registration will not process until we have looked at your registration and approved it. Administrators review pending registrations every day. You are not registered in the selected course(s), until you get a confirmation e-mail from us or until you can see your courses listed on your schedule in MyNTU.
Once you complete the registration process, you will receive a confirmation email from the NTU Registrar confirming your course registration(s). If you do not receive a confirmation within 24 hours, please call us at 505.387.4726.
